The late actor Richard Burton bought the famous Krupp Diamond at auction as a gift to his actress wife, ElizabethTaylor. It's reputedly her favorite diamond and resides constantly on her finger.






 
Wire Wrapping Loop Method . . .

For video reasons, Gerald Wykoff wraps standard loops around a metal strip rather than around the usual "stack" of square wires. Tight looping like this is generally regarded as the basic technique in wire wrapping technique.





 
Faceting the Famed Orloff. . .

The Orloff was stolen in 1750 from a Hindu Temple in India and after a series of exchanges ended up in Russia's Kremlin where it's still mounted in the Imperial Septre of the Czars. It weighs 199.6 carats





 
Faceting the Florentine. . .

The most famous yellow fancy diamond in history, the 137.27-carat Florentine features an irregular round double rose cut shape (top and bottom are identical cuts). It's whereabouts today are unknown. It took 8 hours on a jamb peg to cut the YAG duplicate.





 
The Regent Diamond . . .

Originally stolen as a rough crystal by a slave worker in India, the Regent graced the crowns of many European monarchs and now resides as a featured diamond in the French Louvre. It was named after Louis XV (the Regent).
